Concrete is filled with many hidden dangers such as conduit, post-tensioned cables, and rebar.

A large number of Post-Tensioned cables are present in many concrete slabs. Cutting or damaging even one of these cables can be very expensive and could also cause injury

However, cores through concrete for plumbing and electrical runs are needed without damaging any of structures within the concrete.

Due the increase in services that buildings provide concrete slabs are being filled with structural elements and other pathways. Here threading their way between canned locations are a large amount of smurf tubing for electrical services. In addition to the bonded reinforcement provided by rebar is a single Post-Tensioned cable. Oftentimes the areas between canned openings is filled with structures that cannot be damaged

The tools that we use are the most advanced tools in the industry. Coupled with our patent pending scanning methods Digital Concrete will navigate you past all of the dangers that exist in concrete. All we do is scan concrete; we scan concrete every day.

We are also a specialty concrete consultant and have managed many difficult and challenging projects in a variety of structural situations.

We are specialists in managing the modification of post-tensioned structures.

Creating an elevator shaft through six floors of Post-Tensioned concrete was a monumental task that Digital Concrete managed. On each level the PT cables had to be identified and detensioned by specialty contractor Schwager-Davis. Here we are looking down through the roof. At the bottom is the B2 level that has yet to be demoed, but our scans of the slab can be seen.

Here is a view of the same elevator shaft. We are on the B2 level. We are experts at managing the modification of Post Tensioned slabs.

And we are also experts at dealing with aging existing structures where the preservation of existing reinforcement is of paramount concern.

Prior to coring. Area was scanned and Post-Tensioned Cables and other reinforcement were located and avoided

Two completed cores in an area that was sanded and laid out. This particular area had a large number of banded Post-Tensioned cables and the clients original core location would have cut a large number of these cables. We will navigate you away from these dangers and find you a safe place to drill.

Digital Concrete will do whatever it takes to get the job done. Here we had to haul all equipment up and down a 24' ladder in order to scan the base of a leaking water purification vessel.
